Kefalonia has its own airport, located in the southwestern corner of the island not far from the main town of Argostoli. Its abbreviation in flight listings is EFL. Travellers to Kefalonia normally pick up a hire car at the airport, as most villas require a car. Our Travel à la carte representative meets you at the airport and guides you to the car pick-up point. If you are staying at a villa where a car is not needed, we will organise taxi transfers to and from the villa.
During the holiday season from May to October, there are flights into Kefalonia from a range of airports in the UK. They are all day flights. There is no scheduled service, although from July 2015 easyJet has a flight from London Gatwick on every day of the week except Monday, although from August to mid-September it becomes daily. The other airlines’ flights are spread over several days of the week, with Sunday and Tuesday being the busiest days. Flying time to Kefalonia is between three and four hours, depending on the UK airport. Greek time is two hours ahead of the UK.
Please note that while this flight information was correct at the time of posting, airlines may alter their schedules at any time.
